Martin Luther

Other Contributions by Luther

Among Luther's wise teachings was his advice concerning the Devil's temptations. Luther recommended that those who are being tempted seek the fellowship of other brothers or sisters, avoid solitude, and be strengthened with the fellowship of the church. [46]

In interpreting the Bible, Luther found that the entire Scripture—from Genesis to Revelation—reveals Christ in His life, His death, and His resurrection. [47] Luther also saw the importance of studying the original languages of the Scriptures: Greek and Hebrew.

Luther had a tremendous influence on German education. He was the first to plead for education of all the people, regardless of class. Germany's educational system today is unified, from the lowest village schools all the way to the top universities, primarily due to Luther's efforts. [48]
